Fees for Tenants

Assured Shorthold Tenancy (AST)

Before the tenancy starts:
Holding deposit equivalent to one weeks' rent – refundable if the tenant proceeds with tenancy. Nonrefundable if the tenant fails the Right to Rent check or withdraws from the tenancy
One month’s rent, payable in advance
Deposit equivalent to five weeks' rent if the rent is less than £50,000 per annum
Deposit equivalent to six weeks' rent if the rent exceeds £50,000 per annum
During your tenancy:
Payment of daily interest for late, unpaid, and returned payments of rent at a rate of 3% above Bank of England base rate
Utilities (gas, electricity, water and telephone)
Council Tax
Television Licence
£50 fee for changes to the tenancy
Communications services (internet, cable / satellite television)
£50 fee for replacement of a lost key/security device
Stamp Duty - this is payable on tenancies where the cumulative rent exceeds £125,000 and should be paid directly to HMRC
